Welcome to the first post of O.C. White’s new blog, “Just Ask Otis.” In the coming weeks, this blog will be the place to ask questions and learn more about our products, business, approach, and history.
For starters, though, an announcement! This January, we are pleased to announce the launch of our brand-new website. Rebuilt entirely from the ground up, we’ve been working hard to make our online catalog more informative and easier to use.

And who exactly am I?
Established by Otis Converse White in the 1860s, our company has had an Otis in the top position for most of our history. After our founder retired in 1901, his son, Otis Jr. took over. For more than fifty years as president, he established the company as a leader in industrial lighting solutions. These days, I’m the new Otis on the block—son to our Vice President of Sales and Marketing—and if you think my tiny stature and tender age disqualify me from a position of importance, you are wrong. Let me assure you the VP answers my calls promptly, any time of day or night! When I’m not sucking my thumb, I’ve got him and the rest of the company squarely under it.
